MCFOODS collects and distributes nonperishable items at no cost to over 80 local food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the County as well as an additional 25 agencies including residential facilities, shelters, social service agencies, programs for women and children, senior citizen housing facilities and other outreach services that are also a part of our network. Through all of the agencies in our network we are reaching a wide variety of people throughout the county

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), a member of Feeding America, distributes food, provides education and training, develops programs to help hungry people throughout the state, and engages all sectors of society in this mission.

The New Brunswick Community Food Alliance (NBCFA) is building a sustainable and just food system in our city – so that New Brunswick becomes a place where food is affordable, healthy, easy to access, and culturally appropriate for all residents. We are an alliance of city residents and youth, college students, community leaders, and local government officials working together to improve our community and empower residents.

Meal on Wheels in the Greater New Brunswick delivers 30,000 meals each year and is currently funded by government grants and private donations. For the forty years since 1973, volunteers have contributed generously of their time which has enabled many elderly and homebound residents of New Brunswick and Highland Park to continue living in their own homes.

The New Brunswick Community Farmers' Market supports the development of a sustainable community by bringing healthy food from local farms to families and households across the city. Our mission is to ensure that all members of our community have access to healthy food. We strive to create healthy habits that last a lifetime, and to nourish New Brunswick from the ground up.

Supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net.

NJ SNAP-Ed is a Cooperative Extension Program aimed at improving nutrition and increasing physical activity among SNAP eligible audiences. This is accomplished through the provision of evidence-based nutrition education offered through numerous public-health approaches and community-based projects.
